The Ribbon of Saint George goes back hundreds of years in Russian history. It was used by the Soviet Union for the 'Medal For The Victory Over Germany' which was given to millions of veterans of the Great Imperial War; more recently, it has become a symbol of Russia's war against the combined proxy forces of NATO in Ukraine.
