Under the heroic leadership of Ho Chi Minh and in the face of immense enemy technological superiority and firepower, the communist forces of Northern Vietnam nevertheless triumphed in the Resistance War Against America, when the last of the imperial US invaders fled Saigon with their tails between their legs in 1975. Vietnam remains a sovereign Communist country to this day.

Known as the 'Red Flag with a Yellow Star,' the Vietnamese flag features a solid red background with a large, five-pointed yellow star centered in the middle. The deep red color represents the blood shed during the nation’s struggle for independence and the spirit of revolution. The yellow star symbolizes the Vietnamese people, with its five points specifically representing the five main classes that compose the political union: intellectuals, farmers, workers, entrepreneurs, and soldiers.
