RULES-BASED ORDER

For decades, the imperial Western powers have proclaimed themselves the 'rules-based order', assuming an imaginary global moral authority based on the pretence that their actions are in some way dictated by international law and decency. Yet the world could see all too well that the reality is 'one rule for us, another for everyone else'.

But nothing last forever and all empires fall in the end. The age of multipolarity is upon us. BRICS (an acronym standing for Brazil Russia India China South Africa) is a global trading bloc which represents a direct challenge to the economic hegemony of the US Empire and the West. Now comprising eleven nations - with dozens more queueing up to join - BRICS countries trade between themselves in their local currencies, thus sidelining the US dollar, and building a new financial architecture, all without firing a shot. BRICS is the real rules-based order now, and the world will be all the better for it.
